    Why ‘SPOILT FOR CHOICE’ ?

  • Two National Awards in Area

·       Nearly all the pubs in our area offer REAL ALE

·        A wide range of Ales is available.

·       Home of 3 noted Micro Breweries, namely, Crouch Vale, Brewers of Champion Beer of Britain 2005/2006(Brewers Gold), Mighty Oak & Farmers.

·       Two of our pubs have held the accolade of CAMRA PUB OF THE YEAR.

Our aim is to maintain or indeed improve this enviable position by encouraging the people of Dengie to drink good ale, the Landlords of the pubs to serve good ale and the Breweries to supply good ale.

One of the ways we promote this aim is to hold an Annual BEER FESTIVAL at the Town Hall in Maldon.  This gives people in the area the opportunity to sample beers from far and wide as well as those regularly available locally.  It is also a chance to try different beer styles that are less common.

DENGIE BRANCH HISTORY

After many years of struggling to survive as an independent CAMRA branch, Dengie has, in the past four years risen phoenix-like from the spent mash and hops to become one of the best attended branches in Essex.  From a membership of fewer than 300 we regularly achieve double figure attendance at meetings and we are currently celebrating the success of our 4th Maldon Beer Festival

We hold regular branch meetings and arrange outings to beer festivals and breweries along with other social events.
