National Pub of the Year 2005

The Swan at Little Totham has won the Campaign for Real Ale accolade of National Pub of the Year for 2005.

This is the second time that landlord John Pascoe, his wife Val and their staff have won the award during their time at the pub, the first occasion being for 2002.

To win this award once is a major achievement, so John & Co. must be doing something right!

At the award ceremony on Friday 17th January 2006,  the pub was praised for it’s high level of welcome as well as the superb range of beers always on offer.

The ceremony was well attended by the media, celebrities of the brewing industry, locals, and Dengie CAMRA Branch members.

John provided a sumptuous buffet and free beer for those attending the ceremony.

The staff played their part as well.  Mighty Oak presented an award to Ben Hopkins for his services to cellarmanship.

Regional Director for CAMRA East Anglia Mike Harvey had some CAMeRA trouble…………

…never mind, have a beer instead!
